Volunteer Requirements

Part of a commitment to and understanding of Cathedral School is the development of a partnership with the parents of all students. Parents at all levels are encouraged to be involved in the academic, social, and spiritual development of their children. Many volunteer opportunities exist to help parents be directly and indirectly involved with their children and their children’s friends. A parent may volunteer to be a room parent, library aid, and hot lunch–just to name a few opportunities.

Cathedral School recognizes parents as the primary educators of their children. We are committed to work in partnership with parents to engage students, develop in faith, knowledge, service, and community. There are many easy ways for parents to get involved at Cathedral. We train, no experience required. We need your talents in both big and little ways. Volunteering at Cathedral School is an expression of commitment to your children, your school, and your Christian faith. When a parent donates time at school, our children see the image of an adult as a giver, and they see the demonstration of one of the most poignant lessons from the Bible – humbly serving others.

Lunch Program

A hot lunch is available for purchase Monday and Friday. Lunches include milk, and are ordered online and pre-paid through Boonli . Menus will be distributed home to families via the webpage calendar and Boonli. Brown bag lunches are available to purchase Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from an outside vendor, My Lunchbox. Lunches are ordered and paid through their website, My Lunchbox .

Extended Care

The Cathedral School Extended Care Program has been established to provide quality and consistent care both before and after school for students of Cathedral School.
The Extended Care Program is sponsored through Cathedral School and therefore operates in cooperation with all school policies. It also follows all regulations set forth by the Child Care Division of the State of Oregon and is a licensed Day Care Facility.

Rates and Fees

Children wishing to attend Cathedral School Extended Care must be registered in advance. Registration forms can be found outside the school office or on the Cathedral School website.

Parent Links

Advisory Council

The Cathedral School Advisory Council is the chief consultative body to the principal on matters of administration and policy. It fulfills an important role by recommending policy to the principal and supporting the mission of the school.
Council members can be either elected or appointed and serve a three-year term in which they are expected to attend all meetings and sit on one of the following committees: Finance, Marketing and Development.

Parents Association

One of the most important components of a good school is the partnership between the school and parents, who work together for the best interest of children. Cathedral School’s Parents’ Association is an organization that works to promote this partnership. All school parents are members of the Parents’ Association and have the opportunity to attend regular meetings, participate in social events, and contribute volunteer time and talent through the school’s Parents as Partners volunteer program. Parents’ Association meetings take place at 8:15 a.m. in the school courtyard. Meetings during the 2019-2019 school year will be posted in advance on the school calendar.
