The Bells of St. Mary’s

Several months ago the bells of St. Mary’s Cathedral were removed from the tower by crane and sent back East for restoration. They arrived back this morning, and Msgr. Brennan asked the school children to attend a special blessing of the bells before they are hoisted back into the tower.

After a brief speech, Msgr. Brennan blessed the bells and then the Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade students had the opportunity to leave their mark on the bells with a thumbprint. The 7th grade students signed the bells. By the end of the day all three bells will be safely returned to their home in the bell tower ready to ring out for generations to come.
